Strategy

The context

To launch Spin, Valorlux had to make a new reusable packaging system understandable for very different users. Consumers, merchants and operators all needed clear actions, simple flows and shared rules. Without that clarity, adoption, returns and daily coordination could quickly become difficult.

The shift

From complex reuse logistics to a clear multi-user experience

As Spin moved from environmental initiative to usable service, the objective was to create a product structure capable of making actions clear, consistent, and easy to follow across consumers, merchants, and operational teams.

Before

The project involved more than a mobile app. It connected people, restaurants, return points and logistics, with each role needing different actions, information and levels of guidance.

  • Unclear actions between borrowing and returning
  • Different needs for consumers, merchants and operators
  • Risk of confusion around deposits and returns
  • QR code interactions needed to feel simple
  • Collection points had to be easy to locate
  • Operational tracking required clearer structure
  • Reuse cycles needed shared rules across roles

What needed to change

There was no existing product experience to refine. The work was to define the visual direction, structure the user journeys, design the interface logic, and guide the product experience from concept to usable screens.

  • Define the product direction from a blank starting point
  • Build the UI structure and visual language
  • Map the user journey across each key action
  • Decide how QR scans, deposits and returns should work
  • Create clear screens for consumers and professional users
  • Coordinate design choices across the full product flow
  • Guide the project visually from concept to delivery

The Outcome

What this product structure unlocked for Spin

The goal was not simply to design app screens, but to make a new reusable packaging system easy to understand in real situations. By structuring the journeys, interface logic and visual direction, the product became clearer for consumers, merchants and operational teams.

  • Clearer user actions

Users could understand when to scan, borrow, return or confirm an action without needing the system explained manually.

  • A smoother borrowing flow

The QR code, attribution and confirmation steps were organized into a simple sequence that matched the real-life ordering experience.

  • A scalable product base

The interface structure created a clearer foundation for future packaging types, partner workflows and operational improvements.
